现在大家一定都在忙着准备材料和递交申请，但是千万不要盲目往前走啊，偶尔可以站在高处看看形势。

申请递交后，要么会收到offer，要么会惨遭拒绝，虽然很多大学的拒信中并不会给出具体拒绝理由，但是不代表他们拒绝你都是无缘无故。

UKEC小编根据历年案例，给大家总结出了英国大学发拒信的9大理由，希望大家合理避坑，提升申请竞争力。

综合学术竞争力不够

The main reason(s) we are unable to offer you a place is as follows:

I am afraid your academic qualifications are not at an appropriate level for entry onto the programme you have chosen.

你的学术条件未能达到所选专业要求的等级。

学校不在认可名单内

Your undergraduate degree was obtained from an institution which is not approved for admission to the University of Glasgow. Please note that unfortunately this means that we are not able to consider you for any other postgraduate degree.

你的本科院校不在学校认可的中国大学名单中，因此不但这个专业不能录取，其他硕士专业也无法申请。

均分不够

Unfortunately your application for this course was not successful at this time, the reason is that unfortunately your qualification grades do not meet the University minimum entry requirements.

你的本科均分未能达到学校要求的最低标准。

专业背景不合适

Unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful because your previous qualification subject area is not sufficiently relevant for this programme.

However the Department would like to refer your application to the MA Golbal and International Citizenship Education or MA Social Justice and Education.

本科专业与所申请的硕士专业相关度不够，可以考虑同学校其他对专业背景要求较低的专业。

核心课程不合格

You have not completed the minimum number of core modules for admission to this Master's degree programme. In addition, the core modules that you have studied are too low for consideration for this programme.

没有学够核心课程，或核心课程均分不够。

PS不够strong，或学习目的与教学目标不符

Thank you for your interest in studying MSc Applied Linguistics. Unfortunately your application has been rejected as your interests do not match the remit of the programme.

为数不多的拒信，会写你的PS不够strong，或者，你的学习目标与大学提供的课程不相符。

申请被放在waiting list中

As you are aware, your application was placed on a waiting list. We can now confirm that unfortunately there are no places available for this programme for 2018 entry. This means that we will not be able to make you an offer.

被放在waiting list中的申请，最终也会通知录取或拒绝，如果拒绝，就真的是竞争激烈，没有位置了。

竞争激烈

I am sorry that on this occasion we are unable to offer you a place on this course, as applications for our Fashion Masters' courses are extremely competitive; this year we have received over 1,600 applications for just 200 places, and as places are limited we give preference to those applicants who best meet our selection criteria.

竞争太过激烈，收到的申请太多，录取人数有限。

其实，收到以上拒信的同学都是幸运的，至少拒得明明白白。事实上，80%以上的拒信，并不会给出一个具体理由，只是笼统地说：

未达到录取要求，或不给理由

像这样：

We have given your application careful consideration, and unfortunately it has not been possible for us to offer you a place this time. The reason for this decision is because your application does not meet the entry requirement.

或者这样：

Your application for the MA (Taught): Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) (FT) has been carefully considered, but I am sorry to inform you that we are unable to make you an offer. May I thank you for your interest in study at the University of Birmingham.
